NanoLab has been recommending the use of ultrasonic probes to its customers for the dispersion of nanotubes, nanoparticles and nanowires. We now offer a line of ultrasonicators, which outperform the more common sonic baths in the preparation of well dispersed nanomaterials. NanoLab offers two systems, the QS1 for processing volumes up to 50ml, and the QS4 for preparing dispersions and suspensions up to 1 liter.

The QS1 system
The QS1 is a low cost, 125W, 20 KHz ultrasonic probe for the dispersion of nanotubes, nanowires, and nanoparticles in small liquid volumes. The unit has a 10 hour adjustable timer, adjustable pulse on/off from 1 second to 1 minute. The sonicator is equipped with
a thumb switch, which allows the user to hold the probe and deliver precise pulses of energy, while closely monitoring the sample. In addition, the probe can be mounted in a stand or sound enclosure for continuous processing. The ultrasonic probe system comes with the generator, the transducer, a 6 ft cable, wrenches to attach the horn, and a manual. Select a probe below.

The QS4 system
The QS4 is a 700W, 20kHz ultrasonic probe for the dispersion of nanotubes, nanowires, and nanoparticles in
liquids. The unite has 72 hour adjustable timer, adjustable pulse on/off from 1 second to 24 hours. A user can save 10 program sequences, or operate in a manual mode with adjustable pulse length,
output amplitude, and time. The unit features a touch screen display, overload protection, self diagnostics,
and is self tuning.
The QS4 system comes with a 6 ft cord to allow the transducer and probe to be placed in a fume hood or glove
box, while the generator remains outside.
A pair of wrenches, used to attach the probe to the transducer, are included, along

Cup horn probe
The cup horn turns the QS4 system into a high intensity ultrasonic water bath. Cooling water can either be static, or can be flowed through the cup during sonication of your samples. Samples can be placed in sealed tubes or vials, and immersed in the bath. This is useful for samples that are temperature sensitive. The bath construction is acrylic, and has a 5.5” inner diameter. Sound enclosure
We recommend this for the QS4 system, especially if the system will not be placed in a fume hood or other enclosure. The enclosure reduces noise to safe levels, and provides a first line of defense against airborne particulate. The dimensions of the enclosure are 23"x14.5"x12”. Shown with jack-stand, not included.
